Journal of Ahsania Mission Medical College (JAMMC)

JAMMC is an official peer-reviewed journal of Ahsania Mission Medical College (AMMC), published biannually in January and July each year. The journal covers a broad spectrum of topics, including clinical practice, basic medical sciences, epidemiology, diagnostics, therapeutics, public health, and other specialized areas of healthcare. Its mission is to present high-quality contributions across all domains of medical science. JAMMC publishes original research articles, case reports, and comprehensive review papers. It also provides a platform for readers to gain a wide range of experience through articles featured in the journal.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION ESSENTIALS

Covering Letter

A covering letter is required for the editor of the journal, mentioning a short introduction of work and explaining the research's significance.

Title Page

A separate page to include as a title page. It needs to mention:

  • The title of the manuscript.
  • Type of manuscript (original article, review article, and case report).
  • Names of all authors/contributors (with their highest academic degrees, designation, and affiliations).
  • Names of department(s) and/or institution(s) to which the work should be attributed.
  • All information that can reveal the author(s)’ institute affiliation should be included.

1. ORIGINAL ARTICLES

The text of original articles amounting up to 3000 words (excluding abstract, references, and tables), double-spaced, Times New Roman font with size text in size 12 and heading in font size 14, and a margin of at least 1.5″ on left and 1.0″ on three other sides of the manuscript on each page.

Abstract: Abstracts should be within 250 words, having sub-headings of background, objective, methods & materials, results, and conclusion, along with a maximum of five (5) keywords.
Introduction: State the purpose and summarize the rationale for the study or observation. The introduction to a paper should not require more than 600 words and should be double-spaced.
Materials and Methods: Should contain a clear and concise description of independent variables/manipulations and dependent variables/measures, sample size, sampling technique, inclusion and exclusion criteria, analysis, and study duration. This section should not contain more than 500 words.
Result: Present results in a logical sequence in the text, tables, and illustrations, giving the main or most important findings first. Do not repeat data in the tables or illustrations. Tables should be in the same format as article (i.e., Word). They must be cited in the main text in numerical order. Each table and figure should maintain a serial number with a caption and footnote (if needed). Images/figures must be cited within the main text in numerical order.
Discussion: Includes summary of key findings, strengths, limitations of the study, interpretation, and implications in the context of the totality of evidence, controversies raised by the survey, and future research directions. This section should not contain more than 500 words.
Conclusion: A list of key points and recommends new areas for future research.
Reference: List of references must be on a separate page. References should be written in Vancouver Citation style, numbered with numerals in the order they appear in the text.

2. CASE REPORTS

New, interesting cases can be reported. They should be unique, describing a great diagnostic or therapeutic challenge and providing a learning point for the readers. Cases with clinical significance or implications will be given priority.

  • Length: Up to 1000 words (excluding abstract and references).
  • Abstract: Within 150 words.
  • Headings: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Case description, Case management, Discussion, Reference, and Tables.
  • Learning Points: Up to three learning points of the report need to be given in bullet points.
  • References: The manuscript could be supported with up to 10 references.
  • Authors: Up to five authors could author Case Reports.
